Section 27
Additional facilities and concessions
In addition to the exemptions, facilities and concessions mentioned in Sections 22, 23 and 24, the following additional facilities and concessions may be given to the following industries:-
(a) The industry based on forest production can be provided with usufruct rights in accordance with the prevailing forest laws of a particular area by specifying the necessary conditions in the concession or lease.
(b) The electricity produced by the industry for its purpose shall not be subject to duty or royalty as per prevailing law.
(c) If the industry wants to sell excess electricity produced for its purpose, it can sell it according to the prevailing law at a rate determined by mutual agreement on the amount of electricity to be sold.
(d) The Government of Nepal may provide additional facilities and concessions to export-oriented industries, special economic zones or industries established in the government or private industrial sector by publishing a notice in the Nepal Gazette.
(e) For industries with national priority or maximum utilization of indigenous raw materials, labor and skills or industries established within Nepal by inventing technology or goods, the Government of Nepal may publish notices in the Nepal Gazette and give additional facilities and concessions on the recommendation of the board.
(f) Based on the proportion of the time when there is no electricity supply, the government of Nepal can give a discount on the demand charge for the electricity tariff paid by the industry.
(g) The government of Nepal may publish a notice in the Nepal Gazette and provide subsidies as prescribed to cooperatives, small enterprises, domestic and small industries in the form of seed capital (seed capital) to establish industries in underdeveloped areas.
(h) In order to develop and promote the production and market of new products to foreign investment industries, permission may be granted to import goods produced by such industries from the parent company located abroad for a certain period of time, subject to the specified conditions and limits.
